Who takes it
Jam jarOne focal stem, two supporting, foliage already stripped. Sits on a windowsill without blocking the light.
PitcherBranch work from March. The size that reads from the other end of a room, and two thirds of our subscribers take it.
BucketFour restaurants, one hotel lobby and three households who have strong views about where the amaranth goes.

Pause before noon on Monday and you are not charged.

The same anemone cropped tight so only petal and black centre remain
The same stem, cropped twice
What arrives

A wet box, not a parcel

Everything travels with its feet in water in a lined crate, not wrapped dry in a courier bag. We hand it over, take last week's vessel back, and if you are out it goes in the shade with a note.

If something arrives tired, send a photograph the same day and the next drop is free. It has happened nine times in three years and seven of those were the heatwave in July.

Start on the next Tuesday
A year in the bucket

What you get, by month

Feb – AprNarcissus, tulip, hellebore, early ranunculus. Short stems, long vase life, the only months the jam jar outsells the pitcher.11 d
May – JunPeony for about five weeks, then it stops abruptly. Sweet pea, foxglove, the first scabious. Expect the pitcher to double in volume.6 d
Jul – SepDahlia, cosmos, amaranth, nicotiana, rudbeckia. The loudest colour of the year and the reason this studio is called what it is.8 d
Oct – JanBranch, berry, hornbeam, late chrysanthemum. Less flower, more structure, and the subscription drops to fortnightly by default in January.14 d
The right-hand column is the vase life we expect, measured from the drop, in a cool room, with the water changed.
